U23 Kicks Off the Bezirksliga Season with a Goal-Fest

In their first game of the season in the Bezirksliga, the team defeated SV Auersmacher III 6–2 (2–1) at home at Kieselhumes, putting on a strong offensive performance, especially in the second half. The game, however, started anything but according to plan. The visitors took a 0–1 lead as early as the 11th minute thanks to a goal by Timo Becker. However, our team didn’t let that rattle them and turned the game around before halftime: Mert-Can Ilbay scored the equalizer in the 37th minute, before Marc Wittenmeier made it 2–1 just three minutes later. After Thorsten Bickelmann tied the score at 2–2 in the 60th minute, SV Saar 05 responded impressively. Felix Dieter put our U23 team back in the lead just two minutes later. Mert-Can Ilbay then scored his second goal (75th minute), followed by goals from Ismail Savas Tok (83rd minute) and Antonio Findlay (90th minute), securing a well-deserved 6–2 home victory. With a solid team effort and six goals, our U23s made a strong statement right at the start of the season and rewarded themselves with the first three points of the new campaign.
